Gladdy’s paintings of Bush Men relate to events of at least 100 years ago before white men came to the Central Desert region. Gladdy depicts the confrontations of the Anmatyerr men with other people of the desert. The confrontations were either conciliatory or aggressive. There are scenes of people meeting, talking and sharing tucker together and of hunting and fighting. The varying background colour represents the different areas and the different seasons within her country.
